Customers now pay for trips out of a pre-funded account, rather than paying cash on the vehicle. This system, currently also used by the MBTA, MetroWest Transit Authority, and Worcester Transit Authority has improved customer service and revenue collection for dial-a-bat.
How much does it cost to ride?
ADA and non-ADA/senior local trips are $3 each way. Trips beyond the ADA corridor or non-ADA/senior trips between communities are $4 each way.
How can I pay my fare?
There are several ways to put funds in your account.
- Credit or debit card via the on-line portal; the auto replenish option is available for your convenience. Go to https://dab.www.ridebat.com/

How do I know how much money is in my account?
Balance information will be provided when you make a trip reservation. Additionally, you may check your balance 24 hours a day the on-line portal or you may call the dial-a-bat office and ask a reservationist to check your balance.
Can I link my paratransit account to my credit or debit card?
Yes. Auto-replenish is also available and is the recommended way to add funds to your account.
I don’t have a credit or debit card or checking account. What do I do now?
Accounts can be funded via cash or money order. Prepaid credit cards, available at many grocery or convenience stores, can also be used.
Can someone else ride with me?
One Personal Care Attendant may ride for free. Other traveling companions that accompany you on your trip will pay the same fare that you do and will be charged to your account. Service animals are welcome on all vehicles.
